Who curates it

Resource.fyi is curated by Musharof Chowdhury, founder and CEO of Pimjo. Musharof started Pimjo as a one-person studio in 2015. It has since launched more than a dozen products for developers and designers, including TailGrids, TailAdmin and Lineicons, which have reached more than five million users.

Resource.fyi is one of Pimjo's products. The Pimjo team runs the site and the submission queue; Musharof is responsible for the best-of shortlists on each category page.

How the shortlists are picked

Each category page starts with a shortlist of the strongest tools for specific jobs, a one-line verdict on each and answers to common questions. A pick has to meet these standards:

• Best at a specific job. Every pick has a “Best for” label, so you can match it to what you need instead of reading a ranked list.
• Free where it matters. In categories about free tools, every pick has a usable free plan or is open source.
• The official product. We link to the company that makes the tool, never to resellers, wrappers or lookalike sites.
• Still maintained. Tools that shut down or remove their free plan come off the list at the next review.
• Not limited to our directory. If the best tool for a job is not listed on Resource.fyi, it still makes the shortlist, linked to its official site.

Every shortlist shows the date it was last reviewed. Placement on a shortlist cannot be bought: paid submission plans only affect the directory listings below it.

How the directory works

Below each shortlist is the full directory. Anyone with a free account can submit a product, and listings are written by the people who submit them, so descriptions reflect the maker's own view of their product.

Free submissions join a review queue and are scheduled at least seven days ahead. Paid plans are approved instantly, and the Premium plan adds featured placement and a mention in our newsletter. Listings that turn out to be spam, broken or off-topic are removed when we find them or when they are reported.

Visitors can upvote listings. The “Popular” view ranks products by upvotes, and the “Latest” view shows the newest first.

Disclosure

Resource.fyi is owned by Pimjo, which also makes TailGrids, TailAdmin, Lineicons, FormBold, GrayGrids, UIdeck, Ayro UI, PlainAdmin, Next.js Templates, SaaSBold, Static.run and Meku. These products can appear in the directory like any other submission, and some are advertised in the site header. They are not included in the best-of shortlists.

Featured and promoted listings are paid placements. Promoted listings carry a “Promoted” label, and featured listings appear in the “Featured” section of the homepage.
